The moving experience went from bad to absolutely diabolical.
We ended up spending a few thousand francs extra compared to the original quotation, due to a mix of factors: initial under quotation, careless packing (half empty boxes), additional third party cargo fees (since the shipment had to be redirected due to war in the gulf), additional port fees due to incompetence of local agent.
Communication was already poor back in Switzerland, and it turned non-existent once we moved and were waiting for our belongings. We eventually received our items only because of our own efforts (we only knew where our shipment was from having AirTags and direct tracking via third party website) and by dealing with the authorities and customs directly, as the relocation company's partner in the UAE was so useless. (It also turned out that the UAE partner was actually based in India rather than Dubai, which explained why their knowledge of the local regulations and procedures was virtually non-existent.)
We have done many international relocations before, and after this one we vowed never to do it again. We would rather sell all our belongings before moving anywhere else than go through an ordeal like the one we had with MWRelo.Scopri di più
